Dont worry if you FOMO. You are not going to be millionaires anyway.

BTC is heading to new ATH. Many new people are stepping up the train, and many of them are posting questions such as "how to acquire most bitcoin ?", or "Is it still possible to have 1 BTC", or "what should I do to secure my BTC ?", and the worst: "Should I put all my savings in BTC" ? ...
Those are some legit questions, but if you are asking yourself those questions, you are probably about to burn yourself and becoming a future millionaire has maybe struck your head. Let's just do some quick math to show you that you will NOT become a millionaire.
Following the BTC pattern, I saw many youtubers predicting that BTC price is heading toward 200k USD in one or two years. This is a very optimistic prediction. But let's take it to have the most favorable scenario.
So if you are a broke ass newcomer like most of the people here, you can barely afford 1BTC right now. If you can, your net profit in 1-2 years will be roughly 180k USD. This is a very good income in only two years. But still, you are not a millionaire.
If you want to be a millionaire, you would need to buy at least 5-6 BTC right now, which you cannot afford (even with all your savings) if you are part of the people I mentioned above, and like more than 90% of the population. There are only a few dudes in the world who became multi-millionaire with BTC because they bought a lot when it was below 1K USD. Since then, most of the people are just securing a good retirement plan (even if some of them burned everything in a Lambo...).
SO what should you do ? Is investing in BTC really worth it, even if you will not buy a Lambo? I still believe yes.
If the price of BTC is multiplied by 15 in the next two years, your investment, even as small as it, will also be multiplied by 15. This is still a good income.
So, don’t' burn all your savings, BTC can still only go to 20K then dump again. And take your time to only invest what you can afford to lose.

TL;DR: The times when it was highly profitable to buy BTC are gone a long time ago. Stack stats with what you have, buy the dips when you can, and hodl.
EDIT: In other words, if you are a newcomer, you should read this first.

Some sites to make extra money

Hello Fellow Redditors,
I am going to list some of my income sources. I will try to give as much information as I can.
Some details about me:I am u/abhiearns, I am currently studying. I want to create some sort of extra income sources. I have been trying to use beermoney as well as other passive income communities like passive_income, passiveincome to find some sites and sources that can work for me.
Enough with the details, Let start by listing some of my extra income sources.
Active Earning: So, I will start with sites on which you have to work actively and devote some serious hours to earn some extra income. These are some beermoney sites (include survey sites, and other such sites):

Passive Earning (No Initial Investments): These will list some of my passive earning sources, I am not listing my investments here because I think they deserve a separate section.Disclaimer: I have 2 laptops and an extra phone so I use all of them for earning, the payments may vary depending on the number and power of various computers.

Passive Earning (Investments Required): These are the sources which require some sort of initial investment. These sources can be risky and there are chances to lose money.

\** I am still trying other sites and apps. I will keep updating this post.*
These are some of the sources I use to earn, I highly recommend these. I won't say you will become a millionaire using these but still its little more than you had yesterday.

Questions Answers
Have you ever gotten into legal trouble by exploring the dark places of the internet? Like, "sorry, officer, I was only surfing drug markets and child molester forums for my next journalism piece..." Do you worry about that? Do you have to take extra steps to protect yourself? I'm very careful not to go anywhere that it is illegal to visit. You will hear loads of stories about how easy it is to "stumble upon" child porn, but the fact is that those sites usually have names like "Preteen cuties" so you know exactly what they are, and in order to access them you have to register. So you have to make a very deliberate choice to log into them. I have no interest whatsoever in viewing any child abuse material, so I don't go into those places. When I was researching The Darkest Web, I went to the discussion forums that didn't allow any images (though they did link to sites that did), and even there I turned off images.
As for the drugs, weapons etc, there is nothing illegal about surfing them and looking around.
I do get a bit nervous every time I visit the US, especially when I was invited to a "friendly" lunch with Homeland Security once (it was reasonably friendly as it turns out, it was also terrifying)
the below is a reply to the above
Why did homeland security want to talk to you? They said it was about the murder-for-hire stuff, but some of the questions leaned toward something else
Is there anything that really concerns you about the dark web? Some of the things already discussed are beyond barbaric and that is only the stuff that has been found out about and been picked up by the media and your fantastic work. Do you think the public should expect worse and more horrific revelations from the dark web or is it just "more of the same" for lack of a better term and do you think the authorities are getting better in shutting this inhumanity down and catching the people responsible? I am definitely not against people taking back their online privacy and I actually think that buying drugs from the darknet markets is a safer and more sensible option than buying them from the dodgy dealer down the road. However the one thing that is really disturbing is that the dark web has provided a place for child predators to find each other and form communities where they support and egg each other on. Imagine a few years ago, someone who was into hurtcore could never tell anyone else and would be unlikely to ever come across another person with the same perversions. Now it is as simple as finding the relevant site on the dark web. When there are suddenly hundreds of people who all think and act in the same way, it normlalizes what they are doing.
One of the guys who got caught, Matthew Falder, was a sadist who used to crowdsource "ideas" for torturing the children and teens he was blackmailing into doing heinous things for him online. But apparently he was a "normal" intelligent popular guy
the below is a reply to the above
But how does everyone participate in those illegal sites without getting caught? You said in other comments that you tried to stay away from underaged sites because they were illegal. Can't they be tracked down, even with tor and a vpn? The thing that I don't understand is that even on the dark web people say you should stay away from illegal sites, but how are pedos not getting caught? they are getting caught, but the way they are getting caught is through painstaking detective work, looking for clues in photos, befriending them online and getting them to reveal things about themselves (what is known as social engineering). It takes a long time and many resources.
I say don't go there because (a) it is illegal and (b) you really shouldn't want to go there
Iirc you attended the trial of the person behind the horrific hurt core website that was exposed a few years back. I was wondering if there was anything in particular that happened during the trial that particularly shocked or horrified you that isn't really public knowledge or talked about? Reactions from the judge or perpetrator during the trial etc. As I remember it the guy was a fairly young loner who lived with his parents but would probably never have been expected to be behind the horrific vile things which he was found to be. Also, how did you get into investigative journalism/writing? I wrote in one of the other replies above about the little mute girl that has stayed with me. Also, at the insistence of the prosecution, the judge had to watch "Daisy's Destruction" which was a video of torture of a toddler. He put it off for two days and when he came back he was white. He didn't have the sound on, which is considered the worst part, but he still looked shell-shocked. I don't envy him.
I'll cut'n'paste re your last question: I was in London, working for one of the most conservative law firms in the world when the Global Financial Crisis hit. I liked the job but it struck me when people were losing their livelihoods that I was working for the bad guys. I'd always wanted to be a writer so when I came back to Australia I quit law and enrolled in a writing course planning to be a novelist, but I discovered I was better at journalism. I first wrote for newspapers here about Silk Road and it grew from there
the below is a reply to the above
Thanks for the reply.. that really must've been horrific for all involved from investigation to trial and for all of the victims (apart from the scum responsible of course). I guess it would be naive to assume that the end of this site did anything other than drive this depraved community even further underground. That is the part which is really scary to me but I suppose all we can do is have faith that the authorities are always close on the tail. Thank you for your work on reporting on this and raising this stuff more into the public consciousness and making people more aware of what kind of evil still lurks. It was the most disturbing two days of my life, made all the worse because they read out hours of interactions from the site where the children still had not been identified or the predators caught.
Hurt2theCore was not the last site of its kind and there are still hurtcore sites to this day on the dark web. The one hopeful thing is that there are international task forces that seem to work together really well (unlike when it comes to drugs and every law enforcement agency wants to take the lead and they all withhold info from each other). There are a lot of resources allocated to identifying predators and their victims. Sometimes this has involved some very controversial tactics, such as taking over the sites and letting them run, so that they can use social engineering techniques to identify those who are using the sites and who are actually abusing children
the below is another reply to the original answer
So daisy's destruction is real? Was it referred to by that name court? I always thought it was a myth Yes, Daisy's Destruction is real, it was referred to by name in court and the judge had to watch the 12 minutes of it that were hosted on Hurt2theCore.
The "myth" part is that it shows a murder. The toddler, Daisy, lived, though she suffered such horrific injuries she will never be able to bear children. Hopefully she was young enough that she will grow up without the memory.
However, Scully did murder at least one child, whose body was found under the floorboards of his house. it is not known whether he filmed her murder as no video evidence of it has come to light.
the below is a reply to the above
Thanks for answering. I actually watched a really good video on Hurt2theCore on youtube once, I think it was by a guy called Nexpo. It was really detailed and informative about the whole case - I forgot those details. Thanks again for replying, this AMA is really informative! I think I recall that one, it was from a few years ago.
An excellent podcast that came out recently is "Hunting Warhead", highly recommend a listen. It is a tough listen, but exceptionally well-told and respectfully handled
How do you detach yourself from your work? I'm an investigator for a law firm and I've had a lot of difficult working on wrongful death cases recently. Also, how did you first end up getting published? Any tips for people interested in that field? Thanks! I don't detach. When I was researching hurtcore, it was harrowing and affected me deeply. Writing that part of the book was a very slow process because I just couldn't be in that headspace for very long at a time. Once the book was written I didn't go back there.
I already had a reputation as a blogger and a freelance journalist when i pitched my book on Silk Road. I got an agent and it was auctioned off, with Pan MacMillan getting the rights. At the time, Silk Road was still going strong, and the book I wrote was about this new frontier of drug dealing that was changing the world. I was writing it "from the inside" as I had been an active part of the community for two years. However, right as I submitted the final manuscript to my publisher, Silk Road was busted and Ross Ulbricht arrested, so i had to quickly change the narrative to a "Rise and Fall" thing!
How many times have you approached law enforcement with information and how many times has the approach resulted in action? and... are there times where you know something nefarious is happening but history and the evidence at hand tells you it's not worth the effort? There is no point in approaching law enforcement to say "I have come across this site". If I've found it, you can guarantee law enforcement has found it as well.
The only time I've approached law enforcement was when I had information that they did not, which was when a friendly hacker provided me with a back door into the Besa Mafia murder-for-hire site. I got to see all the messages and orders etc. Of course LE knew about the site, but they did not have the details of the people who had hits taken out on them. We tried desperately to tell police in several countries that real people had paid real money to have other real people killed, but they just weren't interested. We sounded like crazy people talking about dark web hitmen, who were scams anyway and nobody was dead, so why should they be interested? They became much more engaged when one of the people WE HAD PREVIOUSLY TOLD THEM ABOUT later turned up dead
the below is a reply to the above
By law enforcement, do you mean only local or else the big agencies? I feel like I wouldn't tell my local police department because they wouldn't really know what to do. It would have to the the bigger agencies. FBI in US. NCA in UK. AFP in Australia. Nobody was very interested, although the FBI did visit at least one of the targets to let her know she was a target. She still wound up dead
What are some of the most prevalent uses of the dark web that AREN'T all shady and nefarious? We might be getting into semantics here, but people use Tor, which is the most possible darknet that is used to access the dark web, just for private browsing and ensuring that commercial interests aren't following them everywhere to bombard them with ads for some thing they looked up.
Some of the news organizations have a dark web presence so that whistleblowers can upload information safely. Even the CIA has a site on the dark web so that people can anonymously tip off matters of national security.
Other than that, there are just forums, where you don't have to worry that every single stupid thing you post will be saved in posterity forever, to be trotted out years later when you run for congress or something
After everything you've seen, does anything surprise you anymore or are you just numb to it at this point? Do you think there should be more education/exposure about the dark web than there is now or would that just be counter-productive as people would just find another place to hide? I'm curious to hear any favourite stories about the Psychonauts. I am not numb and I hope I never become numb. I really don't visit the horrible dark places very often, unless I'm researching something specific, and even then I don't look at pictures or videos. Most of the crime is pretty benign - I'm not fazed by people wanting a safer way to buy drugs.
I think there needs to be ongoing discussions about online activity and its misuse in general, but most crime still happens on the clearnet. The dark web is not nearly as large or prevalent as people fear.
For a long time, a dealer provided free LSD to anyone who wanted it for personal use (ie not sale) and to any organizations who were doing psychedelic therapy.
One psychonaut got busted and spent time in prison... only he still had bitcoin in a wallet and by the time he was released he was a millionaire. He would have just spent it on drugs otherwise :)
I know law enforcement has to delve into the predator side of the dark web. With what you've seen do you think it should be mandatory or an industry standard that law enforcement officials seek professional help? I couldn't imagine investigating that daily and not thinking less of humanity at some point. I'm pretty sure they do. I worked for Legal Aid for a while, and i know there were pretty strict rules in place for the lawyers who had to defend child abusers.
When I was at the trial for Lux, owner of Hurt2theCore, I met a cop whose job it was to watch all the videos and befriend the predators in an attempt to get them to slip up and reveal something of themselves. She said she had a little filing cabinet in her brain where she put all that stuff, and that making an arrest made it all worthwhile. She had made several arrests personally. She was a sex offender's worst nightmare :)
What’s one of your personal favorite investigations and what made it unique for you? By far the Besa Mafia murder-for-hire case. What made it unique was that, first, I was provided a back door into the Besa Mafia site by a friendly hacker, so i had information that nobody else had. But then I became "friends" for want of a better word with the owner of the site, Yura. Besa Mafia, of course, was not killing anyone, but Yura made a LOT of money scamming would-be murderers out of their money. We entered into a weird relationship over the years where i would report on his activities and he would try every trick under the sun to stop me from doing so, so that he could keep scamming people. He even offered me a job, helping him, because he had become so busy. He also provided me with names and details of people who had hits taken out on them so I could pass them on to law enforcement.
It all became horribly real when one of the people who had a hit put out of them wound up dead. It wasn't Yura of course, but the guy had paid him $13K before giving up on the site and doing it himself. The thing was WE HAD TOLD THE FBI about the hit and the $13K and they visited the victim, but then put it into the too-hard basket when she couldn't think who might have paid that much to kill her.
the below is a reply to the above
Wow. That’s actually pretty cool. Reminds me of an old saying. “Keep your friends close, but your enemies closer.” It's a seriously bizarre relationship. When I was hired as a consultant by CBS for a 48 Hours expose on dark web hitmen, he actually agreed to meet me in London. But he thought that CBS was going to advertise his site as the real deal and he got excited and sent them details of two people who had hits put out on them. CBS sent them straight to the police and very shortly after two arrests were made and it was all over the news, where they called his site a scam. Yura got so pissed about it, he never turned up to our meeting. They had even hired an Academy Award-nominated master of disguise makeup artist to disguise him!
are "red rooms" actually a prevalent thing, or just a widespread misconception or rumor? I ask in part because it's very easy to see, for instance, Mexican cartels dismembering people alive, etc, just on the clearnet. Hell, a couple days ago I saw a video posted of a cartel member cutting out a dude's heart while the guy was alive, and he ATE it. He fucking ATE it. So it seems plausible... The most popular myth of all is Red Rooms, where people – usually women – are tortured to death live on camera while those who have paid to watch type in torture commands in a chat box. Think the movie Hostel, with webcams. In this sense these have never been proven to exist. I get where you are coming from with the cartels, and the recent news item where they found those shipping containers set up with torture rooms freaked me out and made me wonder!
There is some truth to this rumour, but the execution is not like you see in the movies. Most notably, because it involves children, not adults abused on demand for paying pedophiles, but not to the point of death
the below is a reply to the above
The news about those shipping containers really made me speculate, since for every one person who gets caught doing something evil, there must be at least several more people who are very honed in their 'profession' doing the same evil deeds and worse, yet who evade being captured for decades. Anyway, based on morbid things I've seen, karma comes around eventually... I know, right? It really freaked me out, and then when I read that they already had intended victims for them but the police got to them first and put them in protected custody.. IMAGINE SEEING THOSE PICTURES AND KNOWING YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO BE IN THEM!! I would retire to a deserted island somewhere
the below is a reply to the above
Your line of work could easily result in something like C-PTSD down the road a little ways. I have a morbid curiosity, and have seen worse than those shipping containers had to offer. I'm sure you have as well. So one more question from you, if you don't mind: what are some proactive approaches to mental health you take to safeguard your sanity? A lot of wine. Cuddle my dog
Hi, there! This has been fascinating to read; thank you so much for sharing! I'm curious: why do you think so many people who don't want to engage with disgusting and illegal content like hurtcore find it so interesting to read about? Do you have any insight into your readership and the ethics associated with reading about these kind of topics? I think morbid fascination with the dark is exceedingly common - just look at how many people can't get enough about serial killers! In some ways it is probably a self-defense mechanism - the vast majority of true-crime readers are women. People like to be armed with knowledge. We also like to be spooked and scared.
As for my books, I don't really go into much gory detail, but the horror still shines through
Out of all 9-5 jobs out there, why this? What’s your motive? I got disenchanted by being a lawyer and I had wanted to be an author since childhood. The lawyering put me in a strong enough financial position that I could quit to do a uni course for a couple of years. My plan was to become a best-selling novelist, but my first chick-lit novel was nothing special. However, during the course, I found I did really well at journalism and was soon making a living as a freelance journo before I finished the course. My first major feature was on the Silk Road drugs market, which I had discovered thanks to a friend who was using it. Once I got in there I became fascinated by everything about it and started contacting the owner, users, vendors etc asking for stories (I was upfront about who I was). I began the first serious dark web blog - allthingsvice.com - and also became the go-to freelancer for Australian dark web stories. Then I pitched my first book and got a healthy advance for it.
I like working for myself, working from home and delving into things. Right now I have my dream job (though it wouldn't hurt to pay a bit more. I'm certainly not making anywhere near what I used to make lawyering, but I make enough to get by and I live pretty simply)
Did you ever do any writing on Brian Farrell and his role in Silk Road 2.0? I was Brian's cellmate for all of 2017 at Sheridan Federal Prison and heard all of his crazy stories. Was just curious as to the validity of them all. DoctorClu! I did write briefly about him in Silk Road, but it wasn't all positive. I remember being frustrated by the shitshow that was Silk Road 2.0 in the beginning, right after SR1 shut and when DPR2 took off and Defcon got all dramatic. It settled down after a bit and lasted a year, when it was revealed THEY HAD A FUCKING UNDERCOVER HOMELAND SECURITY OFFICER ON STAFF THE WHOLE TIME. But yeah, anyhow, they are probably true. I'd love to hear them :)
Was there ever something on the dark web that made you surprised ( in a good way) and smile ? So many things. Back in the day of the original Silk Road, I became obsessed with the forums, the people behind it, the intelligent discourse about the War on Drugs and philosophy. I found it amusing that drug dealers ran sales and giveaways. There were book clubs and movie clubs.
One of the most important people from that era was Dr Fernando Cauevilla, who became a member of Silk Road as "DoctorX". He was a real doctor who provided genuine, free, non-judgmental advice about drug use to the members of the site. It was quite an amazing time.

Did Ulbricht get taken down the way we were told in the news? What happened to all the Bitcoins? His arrest went down the way we were told in the news. How they located the server has never been disclosed (other than a fanciful explanation that NOBODY could believe). This explanation may be tested if Variety Jones runs a Fourth Amendment argument at his trial
The bitcoin in the wallet on Ross' computer was auctioned off by the Feds. He may have other bitcoin wallets stashed somewhere but nobody knows
the below is another reply to the original answer
Book/movie clubs on the silk road? Yeah, they would set reading and then everyone would come back and discuss the book, or they would have a time when everyone watched the same movie at the same time and chatted about it in real time
the below is a reply to the above
Haha that's amazing! I don't suppose you remember any of the books in question? They used to be a lot of philosophy books, especially on agorism. A Lodging of Wayfaring Men was one of the books. I remember V for Vendetta on a movie night
You don't seem to be pushing your most recent project and you're actually answering all the questions people ask, so I've got ask...are you some sort of government plant meant to destabilize reddit? This isn't how AMAs are supposed to work. You come in, you half ass a few questions, hawk whatever you're here to hawk, and then leave after 20 minutes. That's how it's done. lol I'm a genuine redditor from way back, and I love talking about the stuff I do. I did find that after I answered a question in an AskReddit thread a while back that blew up, the sales followed. But that was organic and I don't think you can force it to happen - Reddit can spot that a mile awy
What are some of the best things about the dark web? And can anyone get on it? Things you can buy that you can’t buy normally online? I really enjoy some of the forums, especially the psychonaut forums where people who like to trip on psychedelics get together and talk drugs and philosophy. There's a real "be kind to one another" vibe.
Getting on the dark web is easy, but not getting scammed when buying things takes a lot of homework. Yes, you can buy most things, but the most popular things are drugs and digital goods, i.e. things that depend on repeat custom and are easily transferable from seller to buyer

[deleted] You're doing the Good Work my man. I'd give you one of those awards if i knew how
What would you define the word "Safe" when it come to the internet (both www and dark web) world and are there any tips that I should follow to keep myself safe? It really depends on what YOU mean by safe. Tor, which is the darknet that provides access to the dark web will keep you safe from prying eyes and surveillance.
If you mean keep your information safe, the old-fashioned advice is to never reuse your password and to enable 2-Factor authentication wherever you can. Your information is quite likely somewhere on the dark web thanks to high-profile hacks of major organizations, but provided you don't re-use usernames and passwords, you really don't have to worry too much about it.
If you mean keeping yourself and/or any kid safe from predators, the only thing is to ensure you are educated about the approaches and methods they use.
Has Covid affected the Dark Web in any real way? Also I just read through all of the post comments, what incredible story’s. I would totally buy a book about the Silk Road or Yaru! re covid on the dark web, here's some notes I made for an interview I did recently:
* when Trump first hyped hydroxychloroquine as a potential miracle cure for COVID-19, drug dealers on the dark web seized on the claim.
* Listings quickly popped up on the most popular darknet markets
* A vendor on Whitehouse Market sells 100 Pills for $90, calling it a “Miracle Drug For Coronavirus” and suggesting buyers purchase in bulk to sell at a mark-up locally.
* Another makes the dubious claim “This drug will help people to beat Corona Virus” There are 11 listings on Empire Market currently, although more than half are from the one seller, who is a well-known and trusted vendor on the site.
* There were also people claiming to be selling infected blood or plasma of recovered COVID victims
* The infected blood stuff is just bullshit IMO Just because something is listed doesn’t mean it is genuinely for sale
* There's been some claims to be selling vaccines
* At the beginning there were also loads of listings for PPE
* some just used it as a marketing tactic - “fight off the virus with edible cannabis” or “relax with Xanax” and others as an excuse to raise their prices
* However, sales are low compared to sales of other drugs on the site, so it is difficult to say whether it’s something that will really catch on
* It didn’t take long for complaints to come in and market owners to clamp down on anything claiming to be a miracle cure or vaccine
* users were discouraging other users from profiting off the pandemic and requested markets provide health and safety information
* All the major markets forbid anything being sold as a cure for COVID. They flagged keywords and vendors would be told to take any listings down. They also put out PSAs telling people not to buy
* Monopoly: threatened to ban and.. “You are about to ingest drugs from a stranger on the internet - under no circumstances should you trust any vendor that is using COVID-19 as a marketing tool to peddle already questionable goods”
* It was a business decision. They don’t want anything that will attract attention or that might cause desperate people who wouldn’t normally use the DNMs to find their way there
* The idea behind DNMs generally is educated and responsible drug use. They really don’t want people dying - bad publicity and no repeat custom
* However the dark web is rife with scammers and people willing to prey on the desperate so there are still scams out there
* The only way I could ever see it becoming a thing is if there is a well-known potential cure/vaccine that is not being made widely available and could plausibly find its way onto the black market
Hi Eileen :) My question is about how you construct your Casefile episodes - I assume there is an extensive amount of outlining but do you write the final draft like a script specifically thinking about his voice? And about how long are they as far as - for example - does one hour equal 50-60 pages? Thank you. I initially write them as if I'm writing an article or book, but then go back and edit them to be read out and yes, when I do that, I do have his voice in my head lol. One episode is usually around 12,000 words. It then goes to another editor who edits the episode to be even more "casefileaa' before it finally goes to Casey
Have you been exposed to things in your investigations that have made you second-guess what you do? If so, what has made you keep going back? i've definitely had days where I question everything, but to be honest, I don't really hang around the horrible really dark places much. I did delve into the child predator forums when I was writing The Darkest Web, but I don't make it a habit to go there. The psychonauts are much more friendly
the below is a reply to the above
To continue with that- have you clicked images, links that make you a suspect in certain scenarios? Oh absolutely. Sometimes I go to a "Fresh Onion" site, which is a site that crawls all the .onion addresses (dark web URLs end in .onion rather than .com, org etc) and alerts you to any new ones. Sometimes they don't have any description, so you take a big risk clicking on any of those. The most dangerous button on the dark web is the "Random Onion" button, so I avoid that.
I'm pretty careful about what I click, but the moment something looks questionable I nope the fuck right out of there
the below is a reply to the above
Have you ever felt that you may be a suspect whether it be ok a drug site, a pedo site, etc. Have you ever been contacted by someone regarding your surfing habits? Well my actual surfing habits are protected by Tor, which means they are hidden from prying eyes, so no I haven't been contacted about them. I am very open on the dark web about who I am and what I'm doing there - I use the name OzFreelancer on all of the markets and forums. I don't go to the sites that host child abuse images - you can't un-see that shit and I don't need it in my head.
As noted in another reply, I was contacted by Homeland Security on one of my visits to the US and taken for a "friendly" lunch.
the below is another reply to the original answer
Psychonauts are more friendly than most people. Something about regular mind altering experiences makes you want to be less of a cunt. Yeah, I call The Majestic Garden a little corner of sunshine and rainbows on the dark web :)

More about The Majestic Garden please? What is grown there? It's a place where people talk about and source psychedelics - most notably LSD, the 2C family, DMT and MDMA. Talk about and sourcing harder drugs is forbidden. In fact the admins snuck in an autocorrect so that any time someone wrote the word "cocaine" it would post as "a raging hardon" :D
Do you fear that seeing all this stuff might turn you emotionally blunt? I'm not watching any of this stuff on purpose (even the clearnet stuff), because I fear that the more you see of it, the more normal it gets, and ultimately, the more it will fuck you up. To quote the movie 8mm... "If you dance with the devil, the devil don't change. The devil changes you." No, I can't even watch "3 Guys 1 Hammer" in its entirety, let alone look at the really dark materials on the dark web. When I was researching The Darkest Web, going into the predator forums did the opposite of making me blunt. It was the shortest section of the book but took the longest to write because it was so emotionally draining
the below is a reply to the above
I have to ask, what is "3 Guys 1 Hammer"? It's a video of two teenagers murdering an innocent man with a hammer that went viral on the gore sites of the regular internet. It's truly horrible.
The teens killed over 20 people. I wrote about them in my book Psycho.com (excuse the plug)
I heard somewhere that you foster dogs. Is that something you do to counter all the terrible humans you encounter in your research - everyone knows how dogs are better than people. How many dogs have you fostered and which one was your favourite? After my dog died I knew I didn't want to have another dog as I wanted to travel more. So I thought fostering dogs would be the answer as you give them love for a few weeks and then they go to their forever home. My first foster, Roy, was a big fat failure and now he lives here and sleeps in our bed and is the most spoiled dog alive
the below is a reply to the above
Did you then just decide to quit travelling? I don't know anything about Roy, but I already think I love him. Nah, he has family he can stay with when I go away, but any major travelling has been thwarted by COVID for now anyway. I'm in a hard lockdown city.
And I'm sure Roy would love you too, u/suckmyhugedong
Given how much you know about the dark web, what kind of crazy awful nightmares have you had? This could be a really good one. Thank you Probably the worst thing was delving into the forums where child predators gathered. I never looked at any videos or photos, but just seeing their discussions sickened me. The one thing that keeps coming back to me came out of the sentencing hearing that I attended of Lux, owner of Hurt2theCore, considered the most heinous website in history. In court they read out a conversation between him and an abuser who made videos of torture of the mute disabled child in his care. They were joking "at least she won't be able to tell anyone" . the abuser wasn't caught, at least by that stage
As an indie author, how have you sourced freelancers? Did you seek out those that have specific expertise or did you work with editors from your time as a traditionally published author? I learned to do everything myself before I started outsourcing.
I work with a professional editor who happens to be a friend of mine from back when we did a writing course together. I've been doing my own covers, but now that I have some royalties coming in, I've engaged a professional cover artist from Reedsy to develop a brand and more professional-looking covers for me. It is the hardest thing to find people you really want to work with and who are in budget.
I still haven't got the hang of email lists, newsletters or a website - they are all in a total mess at the moment and I'd love to find someone who can do them, but again it is that problem of finding the right person who is within budget
is it true that most of the internet is in the "dark web"? if so about how much percent is it? By far the biggest myth is that it 10x larger than the Internet. I mean, this should be common sense anyway, but it gets propagated by tabloid media all the time. It stems a lot from people using the terms "deep web" and "dark web" interchangably when they are different things.
The statement that 90% (or thereabouts) of the internet is hidden is true, and it is called the deep web (not the dark web). The 90% that is hidden is all those pages you won’t get to using google or any other search engines. There’s nothing scary about that – in fact it works in your favour.
The easiest example is your bank. The bank’s major page is available to anyone who searches the web (part of the 10%, also known as the “clearweb”). But once you log in, all those pages you can access that contain your personal details? Not searchable on google. Each one of those pages is part of the 90% of the deep web. Business and government intranets also make up part of the deep web. Honestly, it’s nothing to worry about.
The dark web – the hidden services available through Tor and other anonymising programs – makes up a tiny fraction of the deep web. A really, really tiny fraction. It is infinitely smaller than the clearweb.
Do you think human trafficking happens on the dark web? Last year (I think) there was a really bizarre story here in the UK about a model who was supposedly kidnapped to order, drugged and transported overseas by a group called "Black Death". The official story is that BD doesn't exist, and the kidnapper was a fantasist. Is it likely that humans are bought and sold into slavery over the dark web? There are no slick websites with auctions for slaves on the dark web, but I have no doubt that human traffickers use dark web encryption to communicate.
(here comes the second plug for the thread) - I wrote about the kidnap of Chloe Ayling and the Black Death Group in Murder on the Dark Web
What ever happened to the plural of mongoose storyline? it seems like after he was arrested in the united states, his case just fizzled away. did you ever find out any more information about yuri after he cancelled the interview with a news program? what happened with peter scully's case? i read that there was a fire where a lot of evidence against him was held and it all went up in smoke. are there any character and/or personality storylines that you feel haven't been told or are still a complete mystery? eg. tony76 1. He is still in the MCC in NY and awaiting trial. It has taken a long time because he had terrabytes of information to go through and things would have slowed down due to covid. I understand he is running the Fouth Amendment argument that Ulbricht probably should have run in the first place
2. I last heard from Yura just a few weeks ago. He is still scamming. There are some more programs in the works about him
3. Yes there was a very convenient fire, but he still got sentenced to life and i hope he rots in hell
4. I am madly curious to know what is happening with the extradition of James Ellingson, aka “MarijuanaIsMyMuse”, aka "redandwhite", MAYBE aka Tony76. I would LOVE to know that full story!
the below is a reply to the above
Wow, this shit is a blast from the past. I used to love following the darknetmarket drama. Did you write about PoM and tony76 in one of your books? Ever since reddit shut down /darknetmarket I've been out of the loop. Yes, I wrote about them in The Darkest Web
I was in touch with PoM/Mongoose when he went on a posting rampage on MyPlanetGanja, then visited him in Bangkok prison several times. Wrote all about it :)
This may have been answered by a previous post pertaining to native language barriers to specific sites on the dark web, but in your investigations, did you come across content/pages/forums from warzones? Middle East, Burma, Afghanistan, etc? If yes, what was the most memorable bit? There are loads of sites in foreign languages, but it is too difficult for me (a one-language numpty) to attempt to translate through AI, and it is not worth hiring a translator when they could just turn out to be Cat Facts

Freebay AG

Jesus H. Christ, I nearly fell hook, line and sinker for what appears to be an innocuous triangle on the surface but is actually a lording pyramid in truth.

On Monday my friend who happens to be a semi-pro sportsman with his eyes on the financial freedom dream you see in YouTube ads rocks up to my house. He's parked outside and reckons to me, "dude, are you keen to go to a board game thing where you learn how to manage your finances?"
I'm usually against financial preaching and stuff because it usually sounds hokey and bullshit, but against my better judgement I cave in and we go. The whole ride there he's telling me about this amazing mentor that's going to make me learn about making money without any effort, a dude I'm going to call James. Now James is a charming, well-off guy with a family. He doesn't quite have the YouTube millionaire lifestyle that you usually expect in this sort of 'profession' but I'd happily trade places with him if the opportunity presented itself.

Anyhow, from moment one, James and my friend are mouthing off incessantly about how much money they're making on Freebay. Mind you, I'm oblivious to what the fuck is going on because I don't understand what's cracking - but literally the whole time there's graphs on a screen, and they're talking about these magical AI bots that guarantee returns on investment. Now this is South Africa, and these blokes are talking about making something like 10 000 USD in a month!? Do you know that 10 000 USD in South Africa is like enough to pay for an entire undergraduate degree at the best university in the country, and these geezers are making this shit in a month? Fucking hell.

Anyhow, we digress from the discussion about Bitcoin and that to get to the meat and potatoes of the meet-up, which was to play that Cashflow game that that bloke who wrote Rich Dad Poor Dad formulated. Before we got to playing the game we had this zoom webinar with fellow victims... I mean participants, and they're all monotonously droning on with a despondent stare the same principles from this book that's supposed to be the Bible to financial freedom. There's a charismatic bloke leading the charge and the whole thing feels eerily reminiscent to a cult, in retrospect. You see, in the moment I'm eating all of this shit up about how wealth is a mindset and what not, and when I consider the conversation that was had around me just before the webinar - I saw two positive blokes trusting in this 'company' or whatever and seeing clear cut returns. Maybe they're right, maybe they're onto something. We play this game and that's all I'm thinking about: passive income, wealth, financial freedom - FREEBAY.

After the game, I'm sat talking to this James bloke, his missus and my mate. They're apparently all on this Freebay tip making stacks of foreign cash that doesn't get taxed by the government, and now they're sizing me up. I tell them I'm a small-time writer in uni studying to become a teacher. They tell me that I can exponentially increase my earning potential by watching the link to video that my friend had sent to me during the webinar, and then by opting into a 190 EUR package... the same things I running through my mind: passive income, wealth, financial freedom - FREE FUCKING BAY.

And then I go home, ruminate over the whole thing and begin my research. The whole thing? A facade. Apparently, this Freebay shit was being run under the name of some other pyramid/ponzi-esque cryptocurrency racket called Karatbay and people got fucking conned out of hundreds of thousands of dollars. Suddenly, I realise from the website that they posture themselves as 'affiliate marketers' or whatever in an attempt to hide in plain sight. What's worse is that when I play the sequence of events back in my mind from the beginning when my friend randomly rocked up to my house, the whole thing felt like an entire fucking rat trap and I nearly fell for it too. What blows is that my buddy is balls deep in the pyramid and he's blinded by the illusion that he'll find wealth with these people. He's on the prowl for every friend, family member and acquaintance he can get his hands on and it sucks to see him acting this way.

I just thought I'd share my story. Always be on the lookout guys, these motherfuckers are everywhere - try and save your buddies from this shite. Also, I just thought it'd be wise to mention the name FreeBay in any anti-MLM rhetoric you spew, because these people are predatory as hell.

Some Basics Of Bitcoin

For someone not familiar with Bitcoin, the first question that comes to mind is, "What is Bitcoin?" And another common question that is often asked relates to the Bitcoin price. It started out a under 10 cents per Bitcoin upon its introduction in early 2009. It has risen steadily since and has hovered around $4000 per Bitcoin recently. So regarding Bitcoin value or the Bitcoin rate this is a most remarkable appreciation of value and has created many, many millionaires over the last eight years.
The Bitcoin market is worldwide and the citizens of China and Japan have been particularly active in its purchase along with other Asian countries. However, recently in Bitcoin news the Chinese government has tried to suppress its activity in that country. That action drove the value of Bitcoin down for a short time but it soon surged back and is now close to its previous value.
The Bitcoin history chart is very interesting. Its creator was an anonymous group of brilliant mathematicians (using the pseudonym Satoski Nakamoto) who designed it in 2008 to be "virtual gold" and released the first Bitcoin software in early 2009 during the height of the USA economic crisis. They knew that to have lasting value, it like gold had to have a finite supply. So in creating it they capped the supply at 21 million Bitcoin.
Bitcoin mining refers to the process by which new Bitcoin is created. With conventional currency, government decides when and where to print and distribute it. With Bitcoin, "miners" use special software to solve complex mathematical problems and are issued a certain number of Bitcoin in return.
A question that then arises is, is Bitcoin mining worth it. The answer is NO for the average person. It takes very sophisticated knowledge and a powerful computer system and this combination of factors makes it unattainable for the masses. This applies even more to bitcoin mining 2017 than in past years.
Many wonder, who accepts Bitcoin? This question gets asked in various ways, what are stores that accept bitcoin, what are websites that accept bitcoins, what are some retailers that accept bitcoin, what are some places that accept bitcoin and where can I spend bitcoin.
More and more companies are beginning to see the value of accepting cryptocurrencies as a valid payment option. Some major companies that do are DISH network, Microsoft, Expedia, Shopify stores, Newegg, Payza, 2Pay4You, and others. Two major holdouts at this time are Walmart and Amazon.
Ethereum is the strongest rival to Bitcoin in the cryptocurrency market and many wonder at the question of Bitcoin vs Ethereum. Ethereum was created in mid-2015 and has gained some popularity but still ranks far behind Bitcoin in usage, acceptance and value.
A question that often comes up often relates to Bitcoin scam. This author has a friend who made a purchase from a company that promised 1-2% growth per day. The company website listed no contact information and after a couple months the website simply vanished one day and my friend lost all the money he had invested which was several thousand dollars.
One has to know how to buy Bitcoins, how to purchase Bitcoin or how to buy Bitcoin with credit card in order to get started. Coinbase is a very popular site to do this. Their fee is 3.75% and the buying limit is $10,000 per day. This would probably be the easiest way to buy bitcoins.
Others would like to buy Bitcoin with debit card. Coinbase also provides this service and has clear step by step instructions on how to proceed with either your debit or credit card.
There are those who would like to buy Bitcoin instantly. This can be done at Paxful, Inc. and can be done through W. Union or any credit/debit card.
Other common questions that come up are what is the best way to buy Bitcoins, the best way to get bitcoins or where to buy bitcoins online. The easiest way is probably to purchase it through a digital asset exchange like the previously mentioned Coinbase. Opening an account with them is painless and once you link your bank account with them you can buy and sell Bitcoin quite easily. This is quite likely also the best place to buy Bitcoins.
One must know what a Bitcoin wallet is and how to use it. It is simply the Bitcoin equivalent of a bank account. It allows you to receive Bitcoins, store them and send them to others. What it does is store a collection of Bitcoin privacy keys. Typically it is encrypted with a password or otherwise protected from unauthorized access.
There are several types of digital wallets to choose from. A web wallet allows you to send, receive and store Bitcoin though your web browser. Another type is a desktop wallet and here the wallet software is stored directly on your computer. There are also mobile wallets which are designed for use by a mobile device.
A question that occasionally comes up is that of Bitcoin stock or how to buy Bitcoin stock. By far the most common way to proceed in this area is to buy Bitcoin directly and not its stock.
There is one entity called Bitcoin Investment trust which is an investment fund that is designed to track the market flow of Bitcoin. Some analysts however are calling this a risky way to become involved in this marketplace.
The Bitcoin exchange rate USD is a closely watched benchmark both on a daily basis and long term over the last 8 years since its introduction to the world's financial marketplace. A popular company to receive the most current rate in Bitcoin valuation is XE. They show Bitcoin to USD valuation and also the complete Bitcoin price chart, the Bitcoin value chart and the Bitcoin to USD chart. If you ask, "How much is one Bitcoin?" you will always know from their continuously updated charts.
Similar questions that come up in this area relate to the bitcoin rate history, the bitcoin price chart live, the bitcoin to dollar exchange rate, the bitcoin dollar chart and the bitcoin 5 year chart. The previously mentioned website, xe, is also a good source for answers to these questions.
Regarding Bitcoin cash, ie. to get USD from selling Bitcoin, Bitwol is one company that enables you to do this. WikiHow is another company that will take you through this process.

How sustainable is this Defi and Ethereum rally?

As I understand, these yield farming tokens are hyper inflationary by design, and I'm generally curious on how price performs when selling starts. My assessment is that many of these tokens can lose 90 percent of their value in seconds if just a few people sold.
And Ethereum itself has benefited greatly from this yield farming frenzy. Most of us believe bitcoin will eventually see much higher prices of the coming years. Most people advocate Ethereum is a great long term investment in line with bitcoin, but I see the opposite. Ethereum is just the platform for pump and dumps, and therefore Ethereum is just a higher cap pump and dump coin. Ethereum is the admission ticket needed to get into pump and dumps, and when that pump and dump energy is gone, so is the demand for Ethereum.
Everyone is going into alt coins with dreams of becoming overnight millionaires, but I yet have seen an altcoin that doesnt just act like a pump and dump. Bitcoin had had a 60% correction from 19k to 3.1k, but most of these alts had 99% correction. In general I think the idea that altcoins must outperform bitcoin is a myth. Institutions are interested in bitcoin because of the disinflationary nature and the large following. Institutions are not interested in Sushi or Chainlink. Shitcoins are just pyramid schemes and traps set by whales to fuck over retail investors.

Is it possible to still make a decent amount on Bitcoin?

I'm not expecting to become a millionaire in a month, but is even 1k in profit possible with Bitcoin, say over 6 months?
How do I get started? Total noobie here!
Thank you!

The resolution of Project Richer

The resolution of Project Richer

Project Richer, the title itself has the meaning; a project to make someone richer.
Why do we need to make anyone richer other than ourselves? Someone might think like that. For those who think like that, let us explain you the benefits everyone can have as a whole. Please take a few minutes to go through the post to see if we can change your mind.
As we have mentioned everywhere, Project Richer was inspired by millionairemakers, a concept originally run by the reddit BTC community. If a million people can get together to give $1 each, they can make one person a millionaire. The concept is simple but getting one million people agreeing to that is the hard part. So, we dropped that 1 million part and made it 15,000 USD to be more practical.

Why BSV?

This is a no brainer. BTC cannot power a project like this anymore since it is not what it used to be. People can’t make small $1 transactions since the fees are high. The people who control BTC also promote high fees and they even say “Bitcoin isn't for people that live on less than $2 a day”. So, the optimum choice is BSV which is the only legit contender to the name Bitcoin.

Why Project Richer?

It is challenging to run a project like this without the support of the community. Not just challenging, in fact it is not possible to continue without the peoples’ support. We all know BSV has a smaller community who were constantly being attacked by the mass. So, the chance of failing is high. But if we could manage to get the message right and get this smaller community to comply, this may be beneficial to us all.

Here’s how,

$15,000 is a great amount of money which can attract a lot of people. Giving away an amount like that to a random person each month may create some noise around the cryptosphere. Which will attract more people to the BSV ecosystem. More people coming to BSV equals more users for BSV apps. More users are vital for the growth of the BSV economy. Therefore, we believe this would be beneficial for the entire BSV ecosystem.
To beat the continue attacks on BSV, the community must get stronger. The community is stronger when there are more people in it. When there is a monetary reward to grab, people are more incentivized to get inside the BSV community. So, it is a win win for BSV. You see, it is all connected!
We believe $1 is a sparable amount for people in BSV. If all the BSV community can get together and spare $1 every month we may easily reach the goal. Yes, we think BSV has more than 15,000 users. Though it’s challenging to get everyone to contribute we may as well try. Everyone can help not only by sending $1 but also by spreading the word about ProjectRicher.

So, you mean this a project aiming for the growth of BSV?

In a way, yes. We have multiple goals. We were supporting BSV which is Bitcoin from the start. We also tried different things to promote BSV and its usage. This is our latest effort to improve the BSV economy by bringing more people into the community. Also, by doing this we have a chance to make a fellow BSVer richer and happier.

So, you mean all your goals are noble?

We didn’t say that. Did we? Since the project went live, we have announced on our twitter and in FAQs that the money will be given to a random user from the 2nd month onward. We decide to keep the 1st because we have more things in the lineup for BSV and those things need funding. We have made all our intentions public because there should not be any suspicions if the Project Richer is to be a success.
Developers take different approaches when it comes to funding their projects. You know how your favorite twitter killer, Twetch is giving you all new features. Development needs funding. Some may try the venture backed approach and some may try the user backed approach. Not everyone can handle their own funding until it becomes successful. It could have been easier for us to choose ETH, do an ICO, collect a few million dollars and do nothing. Instead we chose this way. The non scammy way because we are in it for the growth and success of Bitcoin. So, we kindly request you all to help us make this a success.

What comes next?

Project Richer is just one initiative to attract more people to BSV. If we can get the BSV community to jumpstart Project Richer with there support, we are certain that more people will join BSV. We have to work hard if we want BSV to win the race. So, we invite all the fellow Bitcoiners to join us, support us and spread the word. Let’s make people Richer. It will come full circle and you will all get the benefits.
Please join our Telegram group for discussions and share your thoughts.

My Story of BTC

This is my story of how I derped around during the last BTC bubble, made some dough, and saw my friend pile up a mountain of debt on himself, only to become a millionaire. I hope if you read it there is a moral somewhere, but I'm not so sure there is. (prices are approximate to dates, going back in my memory a bit)
OCT 2011: (BTC $4) (preface)
As an undergrad computer science major I mined a few coins in a cyber security class . It took about 2 months and I think it was around .89 BTC or something like that (Edit: OK so I probably didn't mine this much, but I had access to the computers in the graphics lab and during this time, and they were mining 24/7. We let them run for a while after the class before taking our share out). I think it was worth about $8 at the time. I thought this was really cool, but also remember at that time you couldn't do anything with it, especially where I lived. I just kind of forgot about it, got a new laptop sometime later, and eventually chucked that one with the coins on the hard drive... (it was just $8 and I had no way of spending it remember) oh well so much for those. Who knows how many coins were lost by these standards back in those days. I take in all the maths, graduate with marks, drink all the beer, laugh with friends, fun times.
May 2015: (BTC $234)
Fast forward.. I end up in Los Angeles, CA through another long set of tales. I live with aspiring actors and film makers grinding it out as waiters and bartenders. They are good mates and take me to parties on occasion where we meet all kinds of characters. I end up chatting with a guy (lets call him Bill) who's nuts about BTC. I explain to him that I know all about it, and he is ecstatic to find someone who understands what he is talking about. I haven't been paying much attention the past years, and he shows me how far its come in tech and price. I smack my forehead, knowing I tossed away 8/10ths of a coin (could have been beer money man). We become friends and talk about Bitcoin pretty regularly.
I don't buy initially, but Bill is giving it all he's got, buying left and right with anything extra dollar he can scrape up. He believes in it. I get so worried that Bill is going to loose what he put in that I just buy a bit (.1BTC) so I will be invested enough to watch it, to know if Bill is up or down. You can guess what happens at this point. Up we go. Bill makes money, I make money.
June 2016: (BTC $661)
All is well. I am happy that Bill didn't lose his money and hoping he will take and re-invest his earnings in a more diversified portfolio. I'm worried about the ~$100 I made in earnings, like do I file this? (lol younger me)
I meet with Bill for the first time in a while. I'm excited to share our gains. We both show our gains and cheers. He immediately tells me that he is looking at ways of taking out credit to buy more BTC.... WTF? I say. He quickly proceeds to tell me the banks turned him down, but he found out he can just buy BTC with credit cards... so he is filing 7 applications right now to see how many he can open to buy BTC... I think for a second. I do the rational thing. I try to talk him down, but no way. He's doing it. I don't know much about investment at this point, just math and percentages, but thats enough to make me beg him to not do it.... he doesn't listen.
By my estimates Bill purchased a total of $30K worth of BTC with combined cash and credit on hand at (my best guess) an average price of $589 per BTC. I invest what I have to spare from savings to just keep up with the train wreck I am worried about happening to Bill. I think I have .2 BTC at this point just to keep up with his insane position
August 2016: (BTC $576)
The first dip comes, and Bill is facing credit card bills with interest rates that will kick in soon (he will not be able to make the minimum payments). We discuss is troubles at this point frequently. I suggest he should liquidate and close the cards. He disagrees, and liquidates only a position large enough to pay the minimums and give him a bit of cash. Not only that but he use the cash to secure short term loans at higher interest in order to re-invest to make up the losses. I once again beg him to re-consider, but no... this is his path. I once again invest more to keep up with it, so I can keep up with Bill and his well being. I purchase a good bit more and have .5 BTC
November 2016: (BTC$758)
I move to another city and mostly forget about my interactions with Bill. He messages me a few times about the price going back up and being bullish about it once again. I do the same song and dance of trying to warn him to close his cards and positions to get out while he can. Nope he's holding strong. Nothing to be done. I assume I can't do anything to help this situation. Once the price busts above $900/BTC even I can't say anything. I've made money, he's made bank. I feel happy for him, but once again concerned. I know he is running on margin and don't want him to get sucked in, but I also don't want to weigh in on such a big investment at this point. He texts me about the gains, I mostly just give the thumbs up back, knowing I can't back down at this point, but I don't want to be around him if it fails.
Jun 2017: (BTC $3000)
I have mostly lost touch with Bill because I live in another city. I never sold my BTC though, and I never forgot about him. Around Feb. 2017 I visited LA and saw Bill. I thanked him for making me the money that I held now in BTC. I asked him what he was doing with his stake. As always he was ready for the apocalypse to happen and for his BTC to be the only currency left somehow. He was holding stone cold. I wasn't persuading at this point, hell, I was holding myself.
Dec 2017: (BTC $16000)
While I thought I would never be swept up in the chaos that is BTC... I was. The amount of BTC I hadn't sold (.3BTC) was making even me feel like a genius. I had made so much money off just forgetting about something over months at a time. I often thought about Bill, but I didn't envy, in fact I really hoped he had paid off his credit card debts and was sitting on his fat profit. I watched BTC Youtube channels and debated if we would go to $100K or if this was it. I couldn't take the pressure and sold half my position @ around $16K/BTC
2018-2019 (BTC $20K -> $3.5K) (Epiloge)
In early 2018 price went up to $20k before quickly falling back to 10K. Thankfully I sold the rest of my position on the way down at about the same point as on the way up ($16k). I bought a few back in 2019 but have never really put as much capital back in as I made. As for Bill, well I told you at the beginning. Bill is a millionaire. My best estimates based on my text with him is he cashed out @ around an average of $17k/BTC. Even after taxes, he ended up real nice. I don't know if he was in the run up in 2019 but I must assume he was.
Looking at the market today, I'm not sure this story will repeat itself... maybe it will.

Well, I got my initial investment out ... and then some.

Here’s my story, for what it’s worth:
In July of 2017 I had heard about crypto currency and decided to buy my first 2 litecoin on coinbase. I started to see that go up, so I got some Ethereum and watched that move up as well. Then got some Bitcoin, and I think things went down a little while in the red and then back up a little. I researched and heard about Antshares and had to get some! So it moved like a beast in August I think with the rebrand to Neo.
I was hooked. I had half my investments in the stock market and half in crypto. I moved everything to crypto. I then started putting more in than the limits I set for myself. More money in, and more money in. I diversified into all the popular 2017 alts including Qash. The second week of 2018 my portfolio skyrocketed, thanks to Neo. I couldn’t believe it! I was on my way to become a millionaire, lol, just keep holding cause it will always go up!
Then the rest of 2018 happened. Everything, down down down. I started believing in Qash more and more, and they talked a big game! I knew my retirement lied in Qash. At some point I eventually went all in on Qash. And then like an idiot, took a loan to buy more “I mean it was only $0.50, it was about to explode because they were about to deliver so much awesome stuff right??
I was getting close to breaking even. I was now in the red. Then I was more in the red. I’d say I got down to 1/6 of my initial investment. Sucked, but I still believed, like a doofus.
Then I watched a Chico video in December I believe about an interesting little token. For the first time, I actually did some research on it (outside of YouTube lol) and decided to sell a little Qash at a loss and use a decentralized exchange for the first time. Switcheo it was, and that was a cool experience, props to them, hope they are successful.
As time went on (not learning my lesson about going all in) I cut ties with all of my Qash, because screw them, and put everything in this little token, because I could see how this token could actually go up in value, despite what the crypto market was doing. This was early to mid 2019. During the time of going out of Qash to the other token, Qash was anywhere from equal to double the other token’s value. At the time of this post, Qash is now around $.0456 and seems dead to me, and the other token is over $1.50 with so much they’re delivering, almost everyday now it feels like. The team is just a beast.
So anyway, I kept putting my fiat in this one token, more and more. 2020, I was finally in the green?!?! It’s been like 2 years since I’ve been there! So recently it’s been on quite the run. I’ve learned at least 1 lesson from 2018, and that’s to take profits this time. I’ve been selling little bits here and there and finally got my initial investment out, plus what I might will need if I need to pay taxes on that (trying to be a good citizen). And I still have plenty left cause it did like a 10x.
I still very much believe in this token; the tokenomics are unlike anything else I’ve seen in the crypto space. As long as its platform is successful, it will go up in value despite what bitcoin or anything else is doing. It has a real world use, and I’ve used it a couple times, and it was great! It’s also setup for people outside of the crypto space to use it. I believe it will be a lot of people’s first cryptocurrency, and will bring a lot of people into the space as a whole. This current run on it’s on is speculative, I know, but the use case will catch up, and I feel it’s undervalued compared to the majority of vaporware or useless stuff in the crypto market. I feel totally confident being all in on it, especially with house money now.
This has changed my life as I’ve paid some things off for me and my wife allowing us to have a more comfortable financial situation. So it wasn’t all for nothing, and I also just got lucky.
TL;DR. I guess the moral of the story is: if you invest in something (crypto related), figure out what about its use case will make it go up in value other than speculation, be careful about buying promises rather than working products, and don’t be too greedy to take profits just because you “think” it will keep going up.
Good luck everyone, be smart(er than me), and be healthy!

How does the BitQT App work?

How does the BitQT App work?

In the later part of websites are the testimonials screaming out loud regarding their success.BitQT review can be quiet judgemental at this point as a result of neither these testimonials prove the legitimacy of the web site nor the live profit reviews account such
You extremely want to understand that if you opt to speculate you’ll surely not visiting recover. TheBitQT just prove this by themselves stating it not being on affiliate terms with others. Something that’s claiming that you simply’ll earn 110zero greenbacks every day is doing a true-time scam job
Perhaps, theBitQT states advertising itself on Times, CNN and Forbes however neither of them found supportive during this regard. You'll check it all by yourself. This is often the sound proof of its scamming regime throughout the globe
It doesn’t have that laser-accurate performance as in trading bitcoin you can never guarantee the minimum amount of profit you be earning the other day. Its what happens when trading with Forex

Many of the websites agree onto the proficiency ofBitQT negating the crucial and impactful proves I shared with you higher than. They are saying it’s flawless. Will something be this flawless letting you earn regarding one thousand bucks each day without charging a penny? The automated transactions are known to be deposited directly into the user’s account that is nowhere to find affiliation with. Undoubtedly, most of the revealing sites have the only supportive argument beginning with, ‘As the review suggests’. Do raise yourselves, is that this the legitimate way to prove legitimacy ofBitQT
They too argue regarding the legitimate verification method. That’s the explanation why there’s a number of complaints with reference to the current. If these products would have really worked, why not each single person select to remain off from their offices integrating with it somehow:

Merely head to the SIGN-UP section on theBitQT site, fill in your personal info, and present your registration. When acknowledged, you'll be able to be able to access our restrictive Bitcoin exchanging

To induce your exchange account in progress, you’ll have to include some assets. WithBitQT, you can create a initial investment of as low as $250, although you'll be able to contribute as a lot of as you wantoy
Since your enlistment has been acknowledged and you’ve invested some funds, you’re fully done. Simply click on ‘trade’ to receive the rewards ofBitQT’s highly rated algorithm. In case you need a hands-on approach, you can shift to manual operation by changing the settings

There’s no harm in trading in terms of cryptocurrency. We have a tendency to’re not against it. But we tend to really aim to reveal the very fact thatBitQT isn't a legitimate website to believe during this case. To actually invest in bitcoin you initially want to shop for a bitcoin wallet so as to store all bitcoins. a series of blockchain integrations which permits you to top-up and earn.

But, as stated earlier you’ve no actual guarantee concerning the number you wish to earn. Secondly, you wish to integrate your bitcoin wallet to your account and then you’ll be ready to head towards the foremost step. Here, you’ll jin a bitcoin exchange system for trading bitcoin for any different traditional currencies of the market.

It works well solely if you for legitimate sites for functioning and planning. Perhaps, it too needs a nice amount of ability and we never promise you to begin earning when you join Bitcoin Exchanger somehow. This was all aboutBitQT Review as a full fulling the aim of alerting the scam going around.

Money Forex Cluster scamThe Cash Forex Group is run by a company named CFxG which allegedly was founded by a team of experts in all kinds of areas, mainly education in the monetary trading field and network promoting.

https://preview.redd.it/0gc7ga9f1pm51.jpg?width=474&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5c031ac047e635c47d3ee592ab9235878613c890
These experts and their automated trading system will supposedly facilitate your to form heaps of cash. In trading solely you'll allegedly make fifteenp.c weekly on your investments. Then there are referral programs and multi-level structures that can boost your income even more. Is that t
Money FX Group scamLet’s begin this Money Forex Group review by stating the obvious, this scheme may be a total scam, you just have to look at the numbers.BitQT

When they promise you fifteen%+ weekly, it means that 60percent+ monthly, which is totally ridiculous in the important world. It means a lot of than 560zeropercent per year, therefore you'd need solely $18,00zero greenbacks to become a millionaire within year. And this is often plain impossible.

No legitimate business can create you a gradual fifteenpercent weekly, no financial markets are that predictable and that easy to trade. It may appear straightforward to you, but it really is this straightforward, a program promising fifteenp.c weekly should be a scam, there is no alternative method, the Money FX Group is a scam.

However there is additional to go through in this review.
Massive lies

Money FX Cluster testimonialThe Money Forex Cluster claims to be regulated by the subsequent institutions: FAC – Financial Conduct Authority of London, DFSA – Monetary Services Authority in Dubai, FSCA – Monetary Sector Conduct Authority of South Africa and FSA – the Monetary Services Authority of Seychelles.

But guess what, the FAC will not even exist, while the others (DFSA, FSCA and FSA) haven't issued any license whatsoever to Cash Forex Cluster. Therefore not only Money FX Group is not regulated at all, it conjointly is lying huge time regarding its regulatory status.

The fact is that it's no license whatsoever, so it cannot supply investment services legally in most countries.

This is often conjointly why they want you to deposit cryptocurrencies, they wish to remain as anonymous as potential, so that they will run away along with your cash.
Regulatory warning

Not long when we have a tendency to printed our analysis, the Financial Conduct Authority (financial regulator in Nice Britain) came up with its own warning.

The regulator said that CashFX is providing investment services without the mandatory authorization and advised the public to remain off from it. This is often a very serious argumentBiTQT.

It'd be terribly unwise to deposit money with an unregulated and basically anonymous entity, as a result of it would not be protected in any means. No matter where the cash finally ends up, this program is promising you impossible returns on investments, which in itself confirms that something is wrong.
How it works

Let’s end this Cash Forex Group review by explaining the essential principle of this investment program. It's a Ponzi theme that does no real economic activity. It just collects money from individuals and may pay out some profits, but the most recent clients’ deposits can be used for that.

This will have an inevitable outcome, the system can sooner or later crumble. It's simply a matter of your time when there can be not enough deposits to hide withdrawals and also the inevitable end can

Nobody has not been paid, that is NOBODY ….. after all you can't compound or upgrade your CFX account unless you withdraw (get paid) …. CFX are not regulated…. as a result of they use a Regulated broker (everfx) to trade…so that information is also incorrect…and judging by the actual members comments….I’d say, members are happy….. long might that continue. BUT, you must never place in more than you are prepared to lose (In SOMETHING). However do correct analysis, ask

members, don’t rely on people that play safe and stay poor. Do your own due diligence. (ps MOST sites that decision each business out as a scam…have their own links…..promoting guess what ? ….tip. SCAMS ! Beware.

Some extra income sources for you

Time is Relative, When You Live in The Future (With Even More Juicy Content Added)

Hey all, I originally did this post in the Daily May 23, 2020. u/decibels42 encouraged me to make it as an individual post so it is easily findable. Hope folks don't mind seeing it again. Cheers
Every day you login to this group you see someone stressed about the price or happy about the price. The heads who have seen it all only seem to come around when it's actually worth sticking their head out, and I respect that. People should live their lives and let this be a fun place they come to checkin with really smart people - not to stress about every single bump in the price.
How did someone like me find ETH community? I studied to become a developer to build my own business and it's taken me ten years to do so. Ten, long, years. Finally i'm able to be the CEO without having to code though I miss it. Someonewhere along the way our CTO told me about Ethereum. We talked for two years about blockchain etc before we ever talked about the ETH token.
Researching I came across the book by u/danconway650 about how to escaped his as a middle manager and risked it all to invest into ETH and became a millionaire in 2017. It was more than a book about getting lucky - it was about surviving addiction. Investing early in something you believe in no matter how crazy people think you are. And working for a shitty corporation and praying to escape. I think we can all relate to that. Most importantly, in his book he talks about ethtrader - and you can't help but study how things went down over the last 3-5 years after reading his book. I still recommend for new folks to go back and read the old threads. It explains why folks left EthTrader and built this community and what folks have been through:
https://www.reddit.com/ethtradecomments/9me3dq/when_did_you_first_buy_crypto/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share
Sadly, i've seen folks bash him for being correct about the risk he took. So many contributions to this community, and who knows how many people his book has brought in or will bring in.
Below are all edits made after a few second thoughts:
The only bad thing recently seen on the eth boards (Can't remember if it was ethtrader or finance - probably trader) was someone being bashed for buying their first eth and making a proud post. Most people cannot afford to spend money on an investment like this. So folks here are in a privileged and blessed class. Please remember that and don't get down on yourself about what you don't have.
Did anyone see that great post a couple weeks ago by the guy who was addicted to trading and lost like 15 or 20k eth? That type of story gives you perspective.
The best thing i've seen is folks like u/SwagtimusPrime fighting the good fight in CryptoCurrency and getting banned for dispelling misinformation though it seems to be everywhere for bitcoin and allowed to flourish.
https://www.reddit.com/ethfinance/comments/gnrfldaily_general_discussion_may_21_2020/frd6jw3?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share
Also, u/heyheeyheeey ALWAYS doing his reminder ETH is going to 20k.
The guy who does the "This day in eth" posts
u/ethlongmusk posting important content from Twitter
DC always giving thoughtful and cogent responses to the moment of the day.
and of course JT and the other stalwarts.
I'm new af and I can tell you all have had a community built to last forever. That should tell you something.
On the trading side i've learned:
One thing the old heads seem to consistently say is "don't trade".
It is understood that this is a place for traders and hodlers - and both are needed to make the ecosystem work. The truth is, everyone here is super super early.
https://www.reddit.com/ethfinance/comments/cyczuq/this_seat_is_occupied/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share
And to those of you who are tired of waiting - time is relative. Please be patient. More time to learn. More time to DCA.
Be as confident about ETH as this guy was about bitcoin 7 years ago ...not because you are a loyalist..because of Visa, Reddit, and JP Morgan, Winklevoss Brothers, JK Rowling, Eth futures popping off for Ethereum all in 3 weeks:

Let the brilliant devs do their work because the tech is what this is really about and what gives the tokens value

Lets just take a step back and appreciate that as we roll into "crypto spring" https://finance.yahoo.com/video/alexis-ohanian-why-onsite-offsite-155135473.html

2020 Top Actors, Comedians, and Rappers Advocating Crypto industry

When the first cryptocurrency, bitcoin, was launched over two decades ago, there was a lot of skepticism trailing it. The digital currency remained a conversation amongst nerds alone. The concept of digital currency was hard to grasp by many people, and it took a while for people to join the crypto movement.
However, the crypto industry has grown and has begun to amass advocates from every corner of the world. Celebrities are joining the crypto movement and advocating for cryptocurrencies as the best investment choice and as the future currency of the world. Many celebrities lie Snoop Dog, and also Mike Tyson first bought the idea before it became globally accepted but many other actors, comedians, and rappers now advocate for the crypto industry and below are some of them:

Kanye West
That’s right! Kanye West, just like his wife Kim, is a big advocator for the crypto industry. He spoke first about bitcoin in 2018 on an interview with Charlamagne. Before the interview however, he first posted about crypto by tweeting ‘decentralize’ which signified his stand with the crypto industry. He has remained silent about his involvement with cryptocurrency since then but that doesn’t mean he’s done with crypto.

Akon, a Senegalese-American musician, expressed his support for crypto when he spoke at the 3rd anniversary of Binance along with other top stakeholders. Together with the CEO of Binance, Akon spoke on the adoption and future of crypto industry in Africa. He also introduced his cryptocurrency called Akoin which he planned to release soon. IM Academy (Formally known as iMarketlive)

Hello.
There have been both positive and negative comments about IM Academy. Some people believe it's a pyramid scheme while others believe it's the real deal.
I'm here to give my thoughts on what I have experienced since joining IM Academy. Since day one, there has been nothing but support and motivation from every individual I have come in contact with. In our group, we have over 2000 members. I am learning A LOT about FOREX, HFX, DCX, how to be an IBO (Independent Business Owner) and more!
Do they promote? YES, they do promote the EDUCATION, the SKILL SET, the TRAININGS, the WEBINARS, SUPPORTING not just your team, but others, they promote having a positive MIND SET and reaching out to your MENTORS! They encourage you to inform others of these opportunities in the same way you would inform others of your favorite TV Show, restaurant, sports team, your favorite drink, etc. Do you HAVE to inform others of this life changing skill set that can possibly enhance not only your finances, but your way of life? NO, you do NOT HAVE to say one word about it.
The only difference between them encouraging you to tell others about the Academy, the MILLIONAIRE skills you LEARN as you EARN vs. talking about your favorite eatery is that in doing so you have the opportunity to gain residual income. For those who do not know what Residual Income is: simply put, you are able to have an additional stream of income. Who would not want to have an additional stream of income just by simply telling others what you do and they decide to join your team? All you are doing is telling someone about the opportunity to join IM Academy to learn the same skills used by Millionaires! It's up them to decide if they would like to take advantage of the opportunity or not.
There are several individuals who are making 6, 7 and even 8 figures by using the skill set and/or telling someone else of this opportunity. Some of these individuals are just like you and me and some are the Educators which we do have over 100 of. They offer LIVE TRAININGS where you can ask them questions right then and there if need be.
I have read some comments about how you can find this information on YouTube or other online platforms. Maybe you can, BUT it will NOT be well put together, it may not be as accurate and will you have access to Mentors including Millionaire mentors whenever you need help with something like you do with IM Academy?
I've also heard people have said, if you only invest $50 into your account once you get started, it will be gone in no time. More than likely, people who make these comments did NOT attend the trainings and they did NOT use proper risk management. We have SEVERAL trainings through the week and one of the most important training is called the TRADING Plan! This plan teaches you exactly how NOT to over leverage your account. It also teaches you how much to risk for your account size, knowing this will let you know how many trades per a day you can take. If you do exactly what you are taught, your account will not go negative and you would not be posting angry comments about how IM Academy is not what it says it is. Not only do we have trainings by our peers that teach you this, but we also learn this in the Academy Education with the Educators.
Simple Run Down:
Have you ever opened a Bank Account and they had you filled out all these forms that had a bunch of big fancy terminology on them? Well, that fancy terminology means, you are agreeing to allow the banks to invest YOUR money for you. In turn they give you 1% or LESS within a certain amount of MONTHS or even YEARS! You see, what they are doing is investing YOUR money in the FOREX market. They basically flip YOUR funds into profit within a matter of a few days to a few MINUTES and give you the PENNIES of what they made from YOUR money.
Did you know according to glassdoor.com, the national average for a FOREX Trader at a BANK makes around $92,327 a year. To most people that is a LOT of money, but what if I told you they have actually learned a skill that can allow them to make that in a MONTH or LESS? How would YOU like to learn how to do the SAME THING!
This is a financially life changing skill that you can learn to possibly have a better life! You Do NOT need to have experience. You DO NOT need to talk to other people to join YOUR team. This is NOT a SCAM, it is not a GET RICH QUICK solution, but you can become wealthy if you learn and put those skills to use. ANYONE can do this! I do NOT care if you did not graduate High School, if you are a Janitorial Custodian, an Exotic Dancer or a Multi-Millionaire who is looking to gain even more income. You are NOT ALONE with IM Academy. WE are in this together!
What is FOREX? It is simple the Foreign Exchange Market. It is much bigger than the Stock Market, as FOREX is worldwide and trades over $5 Trillion daily! Yes, you read that right, over $5 TRILLION daily! I think there is enough for you to get a piece of the pie.
What is HFX? HFX stands for High Frequency Forex also known as Binary Options. You can buy and sell within a matter of minutes. Which means you can gain profits or lose within 1 to 30 minutes on average. YES, that's right! You do have the possibility of increasing your funds with HFX in as little as 1 minute! BUT, DISCLAIMER: We do NOT recommend you doing this type of trade on your own. With our Academy we have highly skilled Educators who will teach you THEIR technique. Yes, that's right, we have Millionaire Educators who created their own program and will teach you how to use it in order to get significant profits with HFX.
What is DCX? DCX is Cryptocurrency, such as your Bitcoin, Litecoin, Ethereum, Ripple and more! Remember, the guy who purchased a home with Bitcoin several years ago? Well, today it's becoming a lot more popular. People are able to purchase several types of assets using Cryptocurrency, especially since over 10,000 retailers are now accepting Cryptocurrency as payment. Oh, did I forget to mention The Federal Reserve Bank of Boston is working with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) to develop a "hypothetical" digital currency platform. Now, ask yourself, why would the Federal Reserve Bank "hypothetically" create a digital currency platform? Why would they "hypothetical" spend MILLIONS of dollars in creating a "hypothetical" anything?
Bottom line for me is, our world has and is continuing to change. When I was a child, I only saw self driving cars, smart homes, weird types of currencies being used in movies. Look around, what do you see in real life today?
I am not trying to convince you to join me and my team so that I can have residual income. I am giving you vital information to possible help secure your future. Some ETH Stacking Milestones

I just thought I’d list off some of the major milestones for ETH stacking just for a bit of fun. Feel free to reply with any more if you think I missed any major milestones.
For reference, I will be assuming that the supply of ETH will be under 125 million (125,000,000 ETH) for the foreseeable future. This is not a fixed cap, but realistically, the supply won’t be far from this number in the next few decades. This is based on this graph from ETHHub but considering a slightly later ETH 2.0 release. https://docs.ethhub.io/assets/images/issuance_graph.png
Current ETH supply: 111,071,000
0 ETH - What are you doing with your life? Buy some ETH and claim your part of the world computer, the global settlement layer or the emerging black hole of finance. Call it what you want, you can’t stop it's proliferation.
0.001 ETH - One Finney. One thousandth of an ETH is called a Finney. Named after Hal Finney
0.01633 ETH - The amount of ETH you would own if it were evenly distributed evenly between all 7.65 billion people on Earth (assuming a supply of 125 million ETH).
1 ETH - 1 whole ETH. Only around 125 million people could ever hope to own 1 ETH if it were equally distributed.
1.25 ETH - One 100 millionth of the ETH supply. (1/100,000,000)
2.7 ETH - You’re an Ethereanaire! If the total supply of Ether was evenly distributed between all of the world’s millionaires, they would each have 2.7 ETH. (Based on a 2019 Credit Suisse Report which estimated the number of millionaires worldwide at 46.8 million.)
3.14 ETH - Your slice of the Ethereum pi has an angle of 0.000009 degrees (125000000/3.14=40,000,000 360°/40,000,000=0.000009°).
3.2 ETH - 1/10th of a validator node. If ETH price goes up 1,000% or more, might 3.2ETH become the requirement for staking? (This is totally speculative and based on nothing.)
5.95 ETH - The 21 million club. This is Ethereum’s version of one Bitcoin. Only 21 million people could ever hope to own 1 Bitcoin and only 21 million people could own 5.95 ETH.
10 ETH - Double Digits! Only 12.5 million people could hope to have 10 ETH.
12.5 ETH - One 10 millionth of the total ETH supply. (1/10,000,000)
16 ETH - Half a validator node. Find a buddy or family member with another 16 ETH and you have yourselves a shared validator node!
32 ETH - Enough ETH to run an ETH 2.0 validator node!
42 ETH - The meaning of life. Blessed is your stack by the Ethereum gods.
43.5 ETH - 1 Bitcoin worth of ETH. Don’t worry, this one will get cheaper over time if you’re looking to buy 1 Bitcoin with your ETH. Not investment advice.
69 ETH - ayy lmao
100 ETH - ETH Centurion. Oowee that’s a lot of ETH! I’m sure holders of 100 ETH will be considered whales by the end of the next bullrun.
125 ETH - The one million club. (1/1,000,000) Only one million people could ever hope for 125 ETH. The Bitcoin equivalent of the 1 million club requires owning 21 Bitcoin.
320 ETH - You can run 10 32 ETH validator nodes.
324 ETH - EZPZ. For those of you who are out of the loop, a redditor by the name EZPZ was calling for $324 while we were falling down from $1,400 in 2018. Myself and I'm sure many other members or ETHTrader at the time thought that he was crazy. Oh how we were wrong
350 ETH - Tree fiddy.
420 ETH - 🎶 Smoke ETH everyday 🎶
750 ETH - Top 10,000 wallets. Congratulations, if you have 750 ETH or more in a single Ethereum wallet, you’re in the top 10,000 wallets!
1,250 ETH - One one hundred thousandth of the ETH supply. (1/100,000)
59,500 ETH - Congratulations! You’re an ETH billionaire. There are 2,100 billionaires on Earth. If the total supply of ETH were split between them evenly, each would get 59,500 ETH.
Reminder please do not share information about how many ETH you hold, especially if it is a significant amount. It is against the sub rules for your own security. Disclosing your ETH holdings makes you a target for hackers and criminals.

08-17 16:35 - 'Lockdown and Recession-Proof Side Hustle' (self.Bitcoin) by /u/Gold-Standard100 removed from /r/Bitcoin within 18-28min

'''
Lockdown and Recession Proof Side Hustle
Some people call it ‘Global Gold Rush 2020’ as more than 2000 people across the world daily, are rushing to join this extraordinary online money-making system. It has already produced several millionaires in different parts of the world, in less than 6 months.
Needless to say, that the Lockdown has adversely impacted several businesses across the globe, resulting in job losses overnight, companies closing, and the poorest of the poor ‘hanging on for dear life to survive’.
Eskom has won its bid against NERSA (National Energy Regulator of South Africa) to increase the price of electricity by 15%, effective 2021. Just recently, the price of petrol increased by 5 cents per litre, and diesel by a whopping 45 cents per litre! When the price of fuel increases, so does the price of food. We all find ourselves in a position, where we simply cannot deal with price escalations of any sort.
With job losses on the increase, and very few companies hiring during the lockdown, where do we move to from here? Is there another way to generate an income that will not only sustain our current lifestyles, but improve our financial status significantly? Studies have shown that more millionaires were made during the Lockdown globally, than any other period. Fact or Fiction? Feel free to google this one.
It seems there may be ‘light at the end of this dark tunnel’
A good friend of mine, has been making quite a bit of ‘noise’ on the internet by using, what he calls a ‘system of success’ (S.O.S.) and raking in large amounts of cash daily. He is 36 years old and became South Africa’s first millionaire on this income generating platform. He made an astronomical 4.5 million rand in less than 90 days! I would not have believed it, if I did not see it for myself. Just recently, he moved into his new home, with his wife and two kids. It cost him well over 2 million rand, and he bought it cash!
When I asked him, how he did it, he said “Please note, that this is not a job (just over broke), it is an opportunity to change your life for the better” He continued by saying “ You do not need a skill or a university degree, you need a willingness to learn, you need to be teachable”
The highlight of what he said, still sticks with me. He said “I worked this system really hard and was fortunate to become the first millionaire in South Africa in 90 days, using this income generating platform. It may not happen for you in 3 months, but if you can achieve a level of income that can possibly render you debt-free, that will allow you to buy a typical family-sized home, in the area of your choice, and perhaps a decent 5 year old vehicle…in 90 days, would that work for you? I said YES! out loud, before he completed the question. He continued…”For that, you will need dedication and determination” In conclusion he said, “If you would like to create generational wealth, for you, and your family, are you willing to learn from me, and work this system for the next 6-12 months? My answer was a resounding “Yes!”
He ended off by saying…” To start your journey of success with me, you will need”:
*A reliable internet connection / wi-fi
*A smartphone / laptop / computer
*An open mind to accept change and be different (definition of insanity: ‘doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result?’
*An affordable investment to secure your future (remember this is not a JOB!)
Being a natural born skeptic, I said the same thing that so many of us say, when we are presented with a life-changing opportunity…
”It sounds all good, but I do not have the minimum investment to get started” or…
“Let’s see how it works for you. If I see that you are making money, then I will join” or…
“It sounds too good to be true, how can any person make so much money, in such a short space of time?”
And the list goes on…
Truthfully, there are several scams out there…and many of us have fallen prey to these. At the same time, there are genuine life-changing opportunities, with the potential to transform peoples lives from abject poverty to financial prosperity. I have been ‘sitting on the fence’ for too long, and watching golden opportunities pass. My close friend and mentor, now millionaire, finally convinced me to G.O.M.A (get off my ass) and create my path to financial freedom. He agreed to mentor me. I started about 2 months ago with a meagre investment, only to see positive gains. If he could generate 4.5 million rand in 90 days, I will be happy to make that amount in a year!
If you are curious enough to learn more…please reply, I will connect you directly with this millionaire.

You guys have my biggest respect

Hello NoFapers,
I'm 30 years old and part of this group for nearly 10 years now. I have fapped dozens of times, retained for many streaks but never got the 90 days. When I was around 22-24 I did two times around 70 days and relapsed.
Today I realize what a massiv victory it was for me to get those high streaks. It was hard, but It wasn't harder than the day to day life of a 30 year old man that I am today. The important thing in this story is however that I do compare this time when I was 22 and spend all day playing video games and chilling and living the good life only with the small addition of NoFap to my fulltime job, living alone 30 years old lifestyle.
Today I am an successful grown man and still: If you do the 90 days of NoFap and you are only 18 or even younger I feel like I am talking to someone on the same level. From my perspective you guys that make it have such a great spirit and gain so much wisdom from this battle that you will grow in these 90 days like some people never do in their whole life.
When I was 14 I was thinking about buying bitcoins. One bitcoin cost 1$ at that time. Being young and a kid I thought I should enjoy my life as long as I could and I bought a new gaming pc for 1000€. My whole savings at that time. I don't regret it, its my path in life and I'm a happy man, but it shows how an "little" early investment can make the difference between a millionaire and a normal guy.
Don't get yourself hung up on the health discussion or why fapping is good for you. Just do the 90 days one time in your life, as early as you can manage it. Your spirit will rise just like the bitcoin did. Go the full way. Don't sell all your coins for a used car half way.
Hold on to the spirit of believing in yourself and a good world that will bring you the fruits at the right time and wonders can become true and reality.
Because even if I failed NoFap, I never stopped believing in my dreams and now after years all is coming together for me.
You can fight for your dreams and true love. It will be worth it.

TIFU by losing all my savings on cryptocurrency

This just happened the last week, I think I'm ready to explain it all. Memes and some time for myself helped me to not fall into a huge depression.
Here goes the story: I did some dumb investment back in 2019 when Bitcoin was at it's lowest value I've ever seen (1BTC = ~3700$) thinking I was about to become millionaire when it rose up again. I just put all my savings (close to 1200€ iirc) at the time because because why not. Then it started to rise up, 4000$, 5000$, etc. Then when it reached about 8000$ ish I thought it was time to pull out since I've already made enough money for my first car and other things I had to pay ASAP.
And to pull out I knew that at that moment Bitcoin was going up and down like crazy, so to secure my money I transferred it into an US-D wallet (I was using Blockchain) because it was more stable. It went kind of great, except for the part that in the transaction about 200$ got lost in the process. Not a big deal at all, I was already covering the cost of my future car, and the other things I had to pay. I was happy to see profit from a Bitcoin investment.
Then I remembered that in Blockchain there was a feature where I could withdraw money into my PayPal account or something like that (iirc). So I tried looking for it but didn't find it. Then, after some time I gave up and decided to find a webpage to exchange it into my PayPal account. Found one but only accepted Ethereum. So I did the logical thing I found. As I was afraid of losing more money when swapping US-D to Ethereum, I read about US-D and saw it was backed up by Ethereum, which in my mind it sounded like it was the same.
So I went ahead with my plan, and created an account at Coinbase, did the verification thing, copied my Ethereum wallet address, opened Blockchain, went to the send option, selected all of my US-D to my Coinbase Ethereum wallet, and clicked on send. Then, the wait started.
At first I thought it was normal for it to take some time, since it was a big amount of money (about 2400$ at the moment iirc), then it started to take hours, and days. After a couple of days I finally had enough, and contacted both Blockchain and Coinbase Support, told them about the situation. Blockchain didn't even respond, and Coinbase, well, basically told me to fuck off and to be more careful next time, they couldn't help me.
So there I was, sitting on my computer thinking about how much time it would take me to make money again, since I lost my job due to Covid-19, and had some payments to do, because of getting my driver's license recently, having to pick up my degree, and more stuff. It took me about 3 years to put together all that money, just for a shitty decision to see all of it being gone in less than a blink. And about my car, well, let's just say I'll have to forget about it completely for at least 5 years or more.
So, moral of the story, if you are in control of a lot of money, just think twice before doing anything, I would be rather happier with those 1200€ than with nothing that I have right now. I will even have to sell my motorbike and my computer.
TL;DR: screwed up by sending cryptocurrencies the wrong way and losing all my savings.
